Kool-Aid Fun!

Today was my first attempt at dyeing yarn with Kool Aid. It's pretty fun! I ordered some bulky alpaca yarn today that I plan to make multicolored with Kool Aid. But I just couldn't wait, so I decided to dye the fingering-weight alpaca yarn I had with Kool Aid I had bought about a year ago when I had wanted to dye roving for spinning. It's a pretty easy process, and it's cool that you can experiment and make your own custom colors. I didn't have that many variations of Kool Aid, so I used only one flavor for this first attempt, but I definitely plan on getting more!

Here's the yarn after the first dye. I decided this color was too light, so I made a 2nd Kool Aid bath....

My yarn and my bathroom smell like Blue Raspberry Lemonade! Yum~
